About

Hey!

I’m Erin & I started this blog as a way to share stories about my year of adventures (and misadventures) while I navigated life in Spain. Since that first year abroad I have moved back to Boston, but continue to travel whenever possible.

My first big trip ever was a school trip to Greece my junior year of high school. I had a blast learning about Greek culture and sneaking (regrettable) shots of Ouzo, and from then on I was hooked on traveling. After Greece I stayed in the U.S. for a while, taking many other smaller trips, and I eventually applied to study abroad. I got accepted and that summer I spent 11 weeks in Europe “studying”, traveling and making incredible friends. I fell in love with Madrid in the process and always knew I’d be back.

After graduating from UVM with a degree in Nutrition, and applying for maybe two real world jobs I gave up on the hunt and decided to head back to Spain instead.

To get here and to make some money I got my TEFL certification from TtMadrid, and from there I got a job teaching English in Madrid.

After a year of teaching, traveling, and drinking maybe a bit too much I decided that a second year was not in the cards right away. I was broke, and unsure of where life was taking me, so I moved home to work and see what Boston has to offer.

Now, I work in nutrition and live in Cambridge, giving me the chance to rediscover a city that I’ve always called home. I still travel often, even if now I stay closer to home.

I’m hoping to continue updating this blog with stories from my travels and lessons that I’ve learned along the way. I mess up often and get into plenty of ~situations~ so I’m sure I’ll have some good stories to tell.
